Biogas fans
Biogas
Biogas is the mixture of gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen (anaerobically), primarily consisting of methane and carbon dioxide. Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste. Biogas is a renewable energy source.
Legislation
The European Union (EU) has legislation regarding waste management and landfill sites called the Landfill Directive. Countries such as the United Kingdom and Germany now have legislation in force that provides farmers with long-term revenue and energy security. The EU mandates that internal combustion engines with biogas have ample gas pressure to optimize combustion, and within the European Union ATEX centrifugal fan units built in accordance with the European directive 2014/34/EU (previously 94/9/EG) are obligatory.  Combimac ATEX centrifugal fan units are suitable for use in Zone 2 .
ATEX
COMBIMAC, manufacturer of industrial fans, is able to supply fans in accordance with ATEX 2014/34/EU directive, as laid down in the applicable standard ISO 80079-36/37 being "Non-electrical equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres", suitable for Zone 2.
